Abstract

Alter determining the exact number of local television stations in Castilla y León, through the personal elaboration of a census, in this communication we carry out a general description of the characteristics of the information broadcasted by those local TV. Afterwards, we show the main conclusions obtained from the empirical analysis of the news programs of own production of the local broadcasting in this region. An own production programming is a fundamental requisite for a local mass media to carry out an authentic communication of proximity. Through the study of the later, and particularly of the information, we can know the quality of the local communication of these stations.
