Abstract

The XXth and XXIth centuries have been defined as the social communication age. However, Spanish primary and secondary education don't pay much attention to journalism as a subject and there is a lack of resources and teachers. As it can´t become a compulsory subject because we would have to change the syllabus in the whole country, we approach the contents from a school magazine, elaborated by students. This way, we would improve the students´ writing and reading skills. We could also increase their interest in news and mass media. We put forward an example of all the aspects we think such a magazine should include.
