Abstract

This article explores the teaching of film in secondary and higher education in the UK. It traces the popularity of the subject in higher and secondary education. It discusses the influence of the most important tendencies of film theory on ways in which film is taught in the UK. A description of the content of the A level syllabus for film is added.
