Resumo

Nos últimos anos, o MySpace foi crucial para promover o aumento dos seguidores de músicos independentes e representou um papel muito importante no momento de ajudar os artistas populares a manterem as comunidades de fãs. A popularidade do MySpace foi acompanhada pelo estabelecimento de protocolos sociais que permitiram aos músicos estabelecer vínculos entre eles de uma maneira eficaz e com sucesso. Estes protocolos serviram de inspiração para publicar vários livros (como MySpace Music Profit Monster!: Proven Online Markenting Strategeis! de Nicky Kalliongis) com conselhos e estratégias para os músicos. Se bem que alguns destes protocolos pretendem entender o aspecto tecnológico do MySpace, outros protocolos estão diretamente relacionados com a aprendizagem de uma maneira particular de ligação em rede através do MySpace. Além disso, estas práticas são consideradas um trabalho sério, já que requerem muito tempo e habilidades de ligação em rede para chegar a certo nível de êxito, isto é, aumentar o número de amigos na rede pessoal. Assim, neste artigo, são analisados os protocolos sociais emergentes na MySpace como uma forma de trabalho efetivo e imaterial. A autora defende que a implementação de alguns conselhos, como os proporcionados por especialistas no MySpace, possivelmente poderão ter um efeito regressivo nas práticas dos músicos nas redes sociais, já que poderiam ser padronizadas e se tornarem repetitivas. No geral, este artigo descreve a evolução do MySpace, sobretudo no que diz respeito à decrescente popularidade do lugar como uma tendência atual.
