Resumo

Ajudar os estudantes a pensar de forma criativa é costuma ser considerado um dos objetivos centrais da educação. No entanto, muitas universidades de todo o mundo preocupam-se ao pensar que os estudantes não estão preparados para um mundo no qual necessitarão resolver problemas desordenados e desestruturados que não tenham fácil solução. Este artigo apresenta o design thinking como uma metodologia de inovação centrada nas pessoas, que foi implementada em um programa para inovação de design da Universidade de Stanford, assim como em uma das mais bem sucedidas consultorias em design. Depois de um breve resumo do conceito de design thinking, foram ilustrados elementos chaves dessa pedagogia para a inovação através de sua aplicação em uma universidade na Colômbia. Levando em conta o elevado potencial dessa metodologia na construção de confiança e capacidade criativa dos estudantes em todas as disciplinas, e do evidente poder da próxima geração de tecnologia de informação e colaboração, assim como dos meios sociais, o autor propõe novos projetos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento que contribuirão para maior criatividade nos programas de educação a distância e semipresencial, graças à aplicação do design thinking.
