Resumo

O crescimento e a inserção das tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TICs) na economia mundial têm gerado condições que afetam profundamente a nossa sociedade, dividindo-a em comunidades que se apropriam de maneira efetiva esses recursos e aquelas que não o fazem, situação denominada de «brecha digital». Este estudo exploratório buscou propor e validar formas de avaliação de tal fenômeno no ensino superior, a partir da construção de um modelo e de uma metodologia integral que atendam às condições de contexto, em adição à medição de elementos de acesso e motivação de uso já empregadas em investigações anteriores. Trabalhou-se com estudantes de três Universidades de Bogotá para obter indícios referentes ao comportamento do fenômeno. 556 questionários foram aplicados em quatro fases para provar as variáveis propostas pelo modelo. Os resultados mostram que as variáveis do modelo se relacionam de maneira encadeada e escalonada, a relação mais forte se deu entre ensino, atitude frente às TICs e sua aplicação. Ainda que os estudantes entrevistados tenham condições ótimas de acesso e formação, não se encontrou uma relação forte com a percepção de impacto produtivo, isso pode ser devido a uma apropriação superficial das TICs, produto de um contexto distinto às suas condições de origem (industrialização, inovação), ensino de baixa qualidade e economias não centradas em P&D.
