在I:CUD项目(互联网:富有创造力地揭开歧视的面纱)的框架下,本研究在英国、意大利、比利时、罗马尼亚和西班牙,探究了在社交网络网站上年轻人的歧视语言表达。我们设计了一个从493份脸书简介中侦测出歧视内容的方法策略,并且运用这一策略收集到393个例子来为进一步的研究。本研究的目的,在于针对多种多样的歧视内容以及这些内容在网上发挥作用的方式,进行信息汇编,从而为培训者、教师和家庭制订对抗网络歧视的工具和策略。通过这项研究,我们发现了年轻男性和女性之间的一些网络规律,说明在网上亦有女性化和男性化的行为方式,更有各种在社交网络上表达歧视的方式。男性倾向于在发表和分享信息时更为直接,他们的信息更清楚地显示出歧视性,并且更集中于对少数族裔及文化少众的歧视。另一方面,女性倾向于采用较为间接(反应性)的歧视策略,她们的信息包含稍为不明显的歧视元素,主要集中于对社会文化地位和身体外表的歧视。
