难民危机一直是通过社交网络传播的仇恨言论的温床。在社交网络中,移民被形容为一种危险和威胁。大多数媒体在无意识中助长了对这些种族主义信息的传播,但是仍有一些媒体对此做出了回应,他们将传统的新闻活动扩展到对新闻游戏的开发,希望通过这一方法找到消除这些言论的途径。 这项研究使用多模式定性分析方法(信息性和言语性),分析了由相关媒体开发的五种新闻游戏。结果表明,新闻游戏玩家可以像其他新闻类型一样获得真实信息,但是可以获得比其他类型更丰富的个人和情感信息体验(环境,感情,家庭关系)。这些数据并非孤立出现,而是融入于游戏的体验中。该研究确认了所选取的新闻游戏中信息和沉浸体验的互动作用以及不同的等级:在故事中玩家更强的掌控能力可以在微小的程度上增进其对难民的同情心;但是,新闻游戏体验所带来的更大自由度使人们疏远传统的新闻模式,并且存在可能曲解其所捍卫的理念的风险。
