Resumo

O artigo explora os efeitos do conceito sociológico de reflexividade na alfabetização midiática dos pais em crianças pré-escolares. Baseia-se nas recomendações da Academia Americana de Pediatria em relação às restrições de exposição à tela com base em diferentes faixas etárias, co-visualização e discussão de conteúdo de mídia. Aplica uma pesquisa social à amostra nacional eslovena de pais para: (1) revisar suas práticas de educação para a mídia; (2) identificar os fatores que afetam essas práticas por meio de análise de regressão; (3) e usar a análise de caminho para fornecer um modelo explicativo dos fatores que afetam a exposição das crianças à tela. A ferramenta de medição de reflexividade é aplicada para avaliar os escores de metarreflexividade dos pais. Confirma-se a hipótese de que a metarreflexividade é um dos principais fatores que afetam a educação midiática. Filhos de pais divorciados/separados estão mais expostos às telas. Definir restrições é bastante comum, mas a qualidade do conteúdo da mídia e a interação com as crianças também são importantes. A metarreflexividade não apenas diminui a quantidade de exposição às telas, mas também torna mais provável que as crianças vejam e discutam a mídia juntas.
