Resumo

Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma análise quantitativa das autorrepresentações de duas comunidades romenas no Facebook, durante os protestos on-line e off-line contra o «fracking» na Romênia. Em 2013, os romenos começaram a protestar contra as explorações de gás da Chevron, a gigante norte-americana de energia, no vilarejo de Pungesti. Em pouco mais de um mês, esse movimento de resistência deixou de ser uma ferramenta de mobilização rural e passou a ter alcance nacional, com o objetivo de ajudar os camponeses afetados pelas operações de exploração de gás planejadas pela Chevron. O compromisso na internet se transformou em participação na vida real, graças às práticas de informação. Desse modo, uma análise comparativa dos textos publicados em duas comunidades no Facebook (de outubro de 2013 a fevereiro de 2014), segundo a teoria do enquadramento, reflete que as duas ações são culturalmente compatíveis e relevantes para os manifestantes. O estudo identifica o enquadramento verbal e visual e os principais enquadramentos de ação coletiva utilizados para formar a identidade dessas comunidades on-line. Os resultados obtidos mostram a predominância da «luta pela terra» como o principal enquadramento de ação coletiva, seguido de «conflito» e de “solidariedade»; e indicam a preponderância de fotos e arquivos de vídeo como recursos de enquadramento de relevância cultural e como provas do ativismo fora da internet contra o «fracking» na Romênia.
