Resumo

Este artigo apresenta um modelo linear generalizado para a predição do bem-estar no uso de telas inteligentes entre crianças e jovens na Espanha. A pesquisa utiliza um banco de dados de microdados para um total de 23.860 domicílios nacionais representativos e 6.106 menores coabitantes de menos de 15 anos de idade. A Organização Mundial da Saúde recomenda fortemente que crianças e jovens passem menos horas em frente a telas inteligentes e incentiva a sua substituição por jogos mais ativos e físicos acompanhados por uma socialização direta. O principal objetivo de nossa pesquisa é estudar os efeitos do uso destes dispositivos no bem-estar físico e mental, no padrão de sono e suas possíveis explicações. Durante a etapa de análise, comparamos a modelagem proposta com os microdados fornecidos pela versão de 2017 da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde da Espanha. Realizamos uma série de modelos de regressão de mínimos quadrados ordinários, MQO, obtendo informações significativas sobre os efeitos e riscos do uso excessivo que estes dispositivos poderiam acarretar em crianças e adolescentes na Espanha. Como resultado principal, constatamos com os dados e a modelagem que as pessoas que usam esses dispositivos com mais intensidade apresentam maior risco de sofrer de problemas de saúde mental, reduziram significativamente as suas horas de sono e têm mais probabilidade de sofrer de problemas de saúde física, como a obesidade.
