Resumo

O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar as percepções dos professores sobre suas competências midiáticas e o uso que fazem das TIC, bem como a importância que atribuem a essas competências na formação de professores. Para este estudo, foi elaborado um questionário com base nas propostas da UNESCO em TIC (Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação) e AMI (Media and Information Literacy). O instrumento foi respondido por 402 professores e futuros professores. O delineamento do estudo é transversal com caráter exploratório, e utiliza metodologia quantitativa descritiva e correlacional. Os resultados mostram que o nível de competência autopercebido dos professores é baixo e sempre inferior à importância atribuída à competência correspondente. Os professores atribuem maior importância às competências AMI do que às TIC, o que questiona a tendência de priorizar a formação tecnológica e didática em detrimento da midiática. Conclui-se que, com a necessidade de uma mudança de paradigma para a convergência das políticas de formação de professores para a era digital, propõe-se um modelo global de competências de professores em mídia e TIC (COMPROMETIC) que integra as competências de AMI com os professores de TIC. A proposta está baseada em um modelo baseado numa dupla convergência: a dos diferentes letramentos e o do multiletramento - daí resultante com a formação específica dos profissionais da educação em TIC e mídia.
