Резюме

В этой статье утверждается, что необходимо разработать новые подходы к обучению медийной и информационной грамотности (МИГ) в ответ на поиск информации на YouTube. Статья опирается на данные опроса взрослых австралийцев (N=3 510), посвященного их отношению к медиаграмотности, опыту и потребностям. Часть этих данных посвящена респондентам, которые используют YouTube для поиска информации с определенной целью. В статье рассматриваются данные, чтобы узнать, кто использует YouTube для доступа к информации, когда им нужно принять решение; как критические установки этих взрослых сравниваются с теми, кто не использует YouTube для поиска информации; и какой уровень медиаграмотности они имеют по сравнению с другими группами. В общей сложности 45% взрослых австралийцев использовали YouTube для поиска информации и принятия решения в течение месяца, предшествовавшего заполнению опросника. Хотя эта группа разделяла критическое отношение к СМИ и информации, им не хватало уверенности в собственных медиа-способностях. Мы утверждаем, что необходимо разработать новые подходы к МИГ, чтобы помочь этой группе.
