Resumo

A crise dos refugiados tem sido o terreno fértil para os discursos de ódio, difundidos nas redes sociais, que apresentam os imigrantes como um perigo e uma ameaça. Os meios de comunicação contribuem inconscientemente para a sua disseminação, embora alguns tenham reagido expandindo a sua atividade jornalística tradicional à criação de newsgames para encontrar novas formas de contrabalançar o efeito destes discursos. Esta pesquisa analisa cinco newsgames desenvolvidos por grandes veículos de comunicação a partir de em uma metodologia baseada em uma análise multimodal qualitativa (informativa e ludonarrativa). Os resultados mostram que o jogador de newsgames tem acesso a informações verdadeiras, como em outros formatos jornalísticos, mas também dispõe de outros tipos de informações mais próximas e afetivas (circunstâncias, sentimentos, laços familiares). Esses dados não aparecem isoladamente, mas sim integrados à experiência do jogo. A pesquisa conclui identificando a interação entre informação e imersão dos newsgames que compõem a amostra, bem como suas diferentes gradações: um maior controle do jogador dentro da história permite a introdução de nuances que favorecem a empatia com os refugiados. Porém, a maior liberdade na experiência de jogo nos newsgames os afasta do modelo informativo clássico e pode implicar um risco maior de distorcer as ideias que tentam defender
