Technology and education: a complex relationship

https://doi.org/10.3916/C21-2003-03

Francisco Martínez-Sánchez

Abstract

The author makes a brief study about the history of technology and its applications to education and then a reflection on the complex relationship between them. He infers that this relationship has not been studied deeply enough and so technology has been used as a basis for traditional ways of learning instead of using it to transform education patterns. The paper finishes proposing that educational systems have to adapt themselves to these new technologies if it wants to avoid failure.
