Discussion of parameters of quality to analyse Portuguese TV 2 programmes

Abstract

From the perspective of the studies of quality in public service television, this paper intends to discuss some parameters of quality in order to analyse the TV programmes Quiosque and Diário de Sofia, designed for children and teenager audiences and broadcast by the 2nd channel of the Portuguese Radio and Television-RTP. Considering television potential to broadcast creative programmes and to offer different experiences to audiences, the paper will analyse the aesthetic qualities of the programmes and their contributions to enhance the cultural repertoire of children and teenagers..
