大众传媒的消费近年有显着的增长。无预期的结果之一是风险消费的增長，包括网上与网下的色情资讯消费。虽然文献已提及一系列预测性变项（年龄，性别，种族，社会经济地位和家庭结构），但近期的研究显示，在谈及相关消费决定时也应加入对价值观和生活方式因素的考虑。本研究的目的，在于探究青少年在消费互联网、杂志和录像式的色情资讯时，他们的生活方式是否是一个预测因素。本文运用了横断面的观察研究，涵盖了9942名哥伦比亚青少年作为代表性样本（Mage=14.93, SD=2.47）。为了控制社会人口学、结构的和个人的变顼，青少年的生活方式是用多元回归分析和中介分析来进行。结果显示，正面的家庭内向生活方式和色情资讯消费的减少呈现相关，同时，负面的家庭内向生活方式和相对独立的生活方式却会促进有关消费。本研究还显示，在正面价值观和网上网下的风险行为之间，家庭关系类型可以起到中介作用。最后，我们从关系的视角讨论了研究结果，包括它在媒介素养项目上的应用。
