La educación en medios de comunicación como alfabetización

Resumen

Pensando en el reto planteado por las cuestiones implicadas en el tema de este monográfico, queremos proponer que una de las formas de alejarse de los estudios y análisis restringidos sobre los textos mediáticos realizados en el marco de la escolarización formal, es considerar que el objetivo principal de la Educación para los Medios debe ser el desarrollo de la alfabetización. Actualmente, la alfabetización es algo que interesa a todos, a los mayores, a los jóvenes, a aquellos que reciben educación reglada, y a los que están fuera de ella –y abarca, sin duda alguna, la comunicación humana–.
