摘要
本文展現了一套出現在一項國際研究專案中的研究和教學經驗。該研究專案是,數位化內涵和參與(Digital Inclusion and Participation)(2009-2011),參與者來自葡萄牙和美國(特克薩斯)。專案的目標在於,理解使用者和非用戶對於數位化媒體的訪問和開支的條件和趨勢,並特別關注於那些更容易被排斥在數位化活動的之外的家庭和人群(老年人,移民,民族性和語言性上的少數民族)。除此之外,這一項目還包括了高級的數位化媒體教育,關注於通過在上述社會人群中進行的、受監督的研究,對研究生展開的培訓。這兩個目的結合起來,出現在媒體和新聞學研究方法研討會上,分別來自媒體研究系和社會學系的論文作者在會上共同進行了演講。本文關注於研討會中提出的研究和教學的過程,以及研究院學生們如何準備並在監督下進行對來自一個家庭不同代人的兩個家庭成員的採訪,以及他們如何積極參與到對最初被德克薩斯奧斯丁大學實用的問題的修訂過程中,將它們改進為關注於生活中的經歷與媒體的關係的陳述性腳本(見附錄),以及他們如何參與到對受訪家庭的樣本採集工作中。針對這樣定性化的研究方法和學生們基於研究的學習過程的運用的含義,以及在此過程中發現的其他優勢和潛在問題,我們也詳細地展開了討論。
