摘要
南非政府強調了為促進平等訪問權利而延伸媒體教育所扮演的角色的需要,媒體教育要具有品質和相關性,已能夠加強弱勢群體的能力。然而,這一過程富有挑戰,而曠日持久,而且需要很多的資助機構持續而可觀的投入和參與。在南非,對於不平等的技術使用權背後的原因的研究,或是對於阻礙媒體和資訊讀寫力的傳播和被採納的那些障礙的對比性研究,少之又少。因此,如下的事實就並不讓人驚訝了:列舉了非洲現存的大量問題的列表中,媒體和資訊讀寫力這一部分依然未被列入;而且,合格的教師、培訓人員和培訓專案,課程中的資訊技術教育的短缺。所有這些都是未來有待解決開發的元素。聯合國教科文組織的課程模型能夠説明解決數位化的分離情況,並促進社會包容。作為對這一目標的貢獻,通過對凱普鎮大學(University of Cape Town)的學生的採樣,本研究調查了與媒體和資訊讀寫力相關的問題。對於如何幫助在南非的弱勢群體提升媒體和資訊讀寫力水準,本研究提供了一些實用的解決方案。
