Resumo

Os autores partem dos antecedentes históricos e sociais da educação midiática coreana, os quais têm suas raízes em atividades de participação civil nos anos oitenta. A seguir, discutem as políticas legais e governamentais em educação midiática, voltando sua atenção para a Ata de Difusão e nos vários programas elaborados por organizações governamentais, principalmente as que estão sob a responsabilidade do Ministério da Cultura. Também proporcionam bons exemplos de práticas educacionais nas mídias educativas por grupos de educadores, associações civis e indústria midiática, além de apresentar as mudanças no recém reformado Plano Nacional de Estudos, o qual inclui alguns elementos do letramento midiático. Concluem apontando a necessidade de uma política de letramento midiático mais consistente e um fórum para trazer à tona as discussões sobre o tema.
