摘要
網路對各行各業的人來說都愈加重要。網上聯繫也已經成為社會整合的一個重要組成元素。壽命的增長和生活品質的提高意味著老齡人口的增長。本研究旨在分析老年人使用網路的原因，益處，以及造成某些老人不能使用網路的障礙。本研究的研究結果來自一個問卷調查，參與問卷的是參加了大學老年課程的老人。問卷結果顯示這些高齡學生頻繁使用網路——每天或者每星期2-3次，適用的目的為搜索資訊，聯絡家人朋友，做功課和閱讀新聞。他們表示網路非常有用，但是不是必不可少。對於那些無法上網的學生，主要障礙是不知道如何使用。但他們相信自己有能力學會使用網路只要他們願意嘗試。本研究的結果挑戰了傳統角度下對老年人的消極的形象描畫，改變了我們對老年人的觀點——他們並不脫節，也有能力使用互聯網，且他們熱衷學習，進步明顯。
