Resumo
O uso das mídias sociais estendeu-se notavelmente e se considera já como uma oportunidade única para o planejamento de entornos inovadores de aprendizagem, onde os estudantes se transformem em protagonistas de experiências de multialfabetização participativa e entre iguais. O trabalho questiona a conexão entre os usos sociais das novas mídias e as práticas educativas relevantes, e propõe referenciais teóricos mais rigorosos que possam orientar futuras pesquisas sobre o papel das mídias sociais na educação. O trabalho contempla o estudo de caso feito com um grupo de alunos em um módulo on-line como parte de um programa de mestrado sobre meios de comunicação, cultura e comunicação. Os estudantes foram convidados para um desenvolvimento em estratégias de avaliação além das convencionais, com a finalidade de teorizar e refletir sobre suas experiências com as mídias sociais como suporte e matéria do curso. O artigo analisa a experiência dos estudantes avaliados no conjunto do projeto. Durante a exposição de resultados, os autores situaram os argumentos no contexto do debate sobre as novas alfabetizações, a pedagogia e as mídias sociais, bem como na base da teoria emergente da autogestão do indivíduo nestes contextos, como enquadramento metafórico para compreender a produção e a representação da identidade nas mídias digitais.
