Resumo
Atualmente, conforme o envelhecimento nas sociedades ocidentais aumenta, fica mais evidente que em qualquer momento histórico há várias gerações envelhecendo simultaneamente. Portanto, o envelhecimento deve ser estudado como fenômeno multigeracional e não somente como um assunto de pessoas idosas. Neste contexto, suscitam mais atenção as situações que implicam mais interações intergeracionais. Dentro do campo intergeracional, está aumentando o interesse em torno das possibilidades de expandir o papel da tecnologia nos programas intergeracionais. Este artigo se centra nos processos de educação e aprendizagem ocorridos dentro de programas intergeracionais com um forte componente tecnológico. Por meio de uma sondagem, foram obtidas informações de um total de 46 deste tipo de programas de 11 países. Todos foram avaliados segundo seu nível de impacto, o status dos grupos geracionais e a centralidade da tecnologia. O ensino-aprendizagem da tecnologia constitui a principal área de impacto visada por estes programas que, no entanto, também utilizam uma ampla variedade de estratégias para facilitar a comunicação, a compreensão e a formação de relações intergeracionais entre as gerações implicadas. O interesse dos programas analisados não só consiste em ensinar a utilizar a tecnologia, mas em experimentar diferentes formas e funções com ela, bem como explorar o potencial positivo da tecnologia para melhorar as relações intergeracionais.
