Resumo

A relação professor-aluno é crucial para o sucesso do ensino e da aprendizagem. Atualmente, a comunicação entre alunos e professores –fator essencial que facilita essas relações–, ocorrem através das redes sociais. Na presente pesquisa, examinamos as associações entre a relação aluno-professor e a comunicação aluno-professor, mediada pelas redes sociais. A amostra incluiu alunos israelenses de educação média e secundária de 1219 anos de idade (n=667). Comparou-se a relação professor-aluno entre subgrupos de alunos de acordo com o tipo de conexão com seus professores no Facebook (ou a falta de conexão), suas atitudes em relação à proibição de conexão pelo Faceboook com os professores, e suas percepções sobre o uso do Facebook para a aprendizagem. No que diz respeito às atitudes dos alunos com relação à proibição da comunicação aluno-professor através de redes sociais, assim como o uso do Facebook para estudar, encontramos diferenças significativas em três grupos de alunos: aqueles que não se interessam em se conectar com seus professores no Facebook, aqueles que se conectam com seus professores no Facebook, e aqueles que não estão conectados com seus professores, mas desejam fazê-lo. Encontramos associações significativas na relação aluno-professor e na comunicação aluno-professor mediada pelo Facebook. Nesta última, existe uma lacuna entre as expectativas do aluno e experiência prática. A chave para fechar essa lacuna se baseia em normas e na implementação efetiva.
