Resumo

O sexting é uma das práticas usadas pelos jovens para explorar sua sexualidade. Embora se recomende uma resposta educacional a todas as formas de expressão desse fenômeno, na Espanha, foram publicadas poucas pesquisas que analisem sua prevalência, diferenciando os diversos tipos de comportamento de sexting: envio, recebimento, encaminhamento e recebimento de encaminhamentos. O presente estudo aborda esta lacuna nas pesquisas, explorando: 1) A prevalência de sexting, diferenciando entre comportamentos; 2) As relações entre os comportamentos de sexting e o gênero, a idade, a orientação sexual, ter um parceiro romântico/sexual, as redes sociais utilizadas, o grau de normalização do sexting e a predisposição para participar; 3) As diferenças de gênero. No total, participaram 3.314 adolescentes de 12 a 16 anos. Os comportamentos de sexting mais frequentes foram o recebimento e o recebimento de encaminhamentos, seguidos do encaminhamento e do envio. A importância relativa de cada uma das variáveis analisadas dependeu do comportamento analisado e do gênero dos adolescentes. Os resultados destacam a importância de desvendar a diversidade dos comportamentos de sexting e abordar cada um deles a partir da educação. Essa visão mais detalhada sobre os diferentes comportamentos poderia ser usada como base para a tomada de decisões educativas e de sensibilização.
