Resumo

As imagens de futuro entre os jovens têm sido condicionadas pelas histórias presentes na mídia, filmes, livros e também na escola. Os currículos educativos são constituídos por uma seleção de conhecimentos que privilegia certas formas de compreender o futuro em detrimento de outras. Os jovens muitas vezes imaginam um futuro que está em crise econômica, social e/ou climática. No entanto, eles também imaginam um futuro brilhante para si mesmos, desvinculados do futuro que imaginam para a sociedade. Neste artigo, apresentamos uma análise qualitativa dos currículos da Austrália, Espanha e Chile, juntamente com entrevistas com professores desses países. Investigamos a presença e ausência da educação do futuro nesses currículos, seu grau de desenvolvimento em relação à educação do futuro e fazemos uma primeira análise da influência da educação do futuro nas escolas. Para isso, identificamos quatro dimensões: situar no tempo, antecipar, imaginar futuros alternativos e ação social. Os resultados mostram que, enquanto o currículo australiano inclui explicitamente a educação para o futuro, os currículos espanhol e chileno o inclui apenas tangencialmente. Além disso, o contexto sociocultural das escolas e a vontade do corpo docente são elementos que determinam a implementação da educação do futuro no contexto escolar.
