Resumo
Os aplicativos de mensagens instantâneas integrados em smartphones têm favorecido o surgimento de novos sistemas de escrita digital, que se caracterizam pelo uso de grafias específicas denominadas textismos. Este estudo analisa a relação entre o uso de textismos e erros ortográficos em textos acadêmicos. A metodologia aplicada foi descritiva, baseada na análise de conteúdo dirigida. A amostra foi constituída por 270 alunos do terceiro e quarto anos do ensino secundário obrigatório matriculados em doze escolas secundárias públicas da comunidade autônoma da Andaluzia. Os dados foram obtidos a partir de textos reais fornecidos pelos alunos participantes do estudo, extraídos, por um lado, de mensagens de WhatsApp de seus smartphones e, por outro, de textos acadêmicos produzidos como atividade em sala de aula. Os resultados obtidos a partir das análises descritivas e das análises de correlação bivariada (coeficiente de Pearson) permitem afirmar que a média do número de textismos no WhatsApp da amostra é muito superior ao número de erros ortográficos nos textos escolares, o que confirma que os textismos são discrepâncias intencionais com a norma acadêmica no contexto digital. Consequentemente, não podem ser considerados como erros ortográficos que ocorrem devido ao desconhecimento da língua espanhola, mas sim como novas formas de linguagem geradas pelo uso de tecnologias digitais.
