A cultura da convergência e a ecologia das mídias

Resumo

Antes da Internet, cada meio de comunicação possuía funções e mercados perfeitamente definidos. Contudo, devido à enorme evolução da Internet e das comunicações digitais, um mesmo conteúdo hoje pode circular em diferentes meios de comunicação. É a chamada cultura da convergência. A narrativa transmídia prevê o advento de novos mercados de consumo cultural. Com base na ecologia das mídias e considerando especificamente a tese de Marshall McLuhan, Neil Postman e Henry Jenkins, analisa-se a cultura da convergência como um complexo ambiente comunicativo. A cultura da convergência modifica os procedimentos operacionais das indústrias midiáticas. As mudanças mais signifcativas, no entanto, ocorrem nas comunidades de conhecimento.
