Resumo

A grande maioria dos estudantes universitários utilizam ativamente as redes sociais (RS). No entanto, há estudos limitados sobre as percepções dos estudantes universitários quanto à relação aluno-professor nas redes sociais. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar as percepções dos estudantes universitários sobre a interação com seus professores nas redes sociais. Para este fim, foi utilizado um projeto exploratório de métodos mistos. Coletaram-se dados qualitativos de 21 estudantes por meio de entrevistas e dados quantitativos de 1.324 estudantes em 19 universidades da Turquia através de questionários. Para analisar os dados, foram utilizadas análise de conteúdo, análise descritiva e análise de componentes principais. A primeira contribuiu para a formulação dos itens do questionário. A análise do componente principal apresentou quatro dimensões: utilidade percebida, barreiras percebidas, comportamentos docentes percebidos como favoráveis e desfavoráveis. O achado mais evidente foi que os estudantes se opuseram principalmente a que os professores compartilhassem suas opiniões políticas e religiosas. Contudo, estavam a favor de que os docentes compartilhassem informação sobre suas vidas pessoais. Apesar de alguns estudantes apresentarem dúvidas, especialmente com relação ao nível de respeito entre eles, a maioria dos alunos tinha uma perspectiva positiva sobre as amizades professor-aluno. Os estudantes indicaram que ser amigos nas redes sociais aumentaria sua motivação sobre o curso.
