Resumo
Em 2019, o movimento climático dá um passo sem precedentes em sua capacidade de mobilização e impacto político e midiático. O sucesso do movimento está intimamente ligado tanto à figura de Greta Thunberg e seu impacto global, quanto à implementação do «Fridays for Future» em centenas de cidades ao redor do mundo. Este artigo analisa a relação entre esses dois elementos por meio da análise do contexto do movimento e sua divulgação nas redes sociais. Especificamente, mostra-se, por meio da análise dos discursos e mensagens da ativista nas redes sociais, o papel fundamental de Greta no estabelecimento de uma nova referência do movimento climático e como esta é reforçada e legitimada por meio de sua própria história pessoal, contada através da jornada arquetípica do herói ou monomito. Em seguida, analisa-se a incorporação e adaptação do fenômeno Greta nas redes sociais de «Fridays for Future» Barcelona através da análise de conteúdo das suas publicações no Twitter e no Instagram. Os resultados mostram como, apesar da relutância em personalizar a liderança, há uma influência proeminente da estrutura global de Greta no discurso do movimento local e no impacto sobre seus seguidores. Além disso, a análise fornece evidências empíricas da relevância da dinâmica glocal nos movimentos sociais no ambiente online.
