Resumo

A crise climática e a emergência ambiental são sinais de incerteza para o futuro do planeta. As diretivas educativas europeias e nacionais estabelecem o quadro de ação e os compromissos que devem ser assumidos por cada agente para alcançar o novo paradigma sustentável, assentado na circularidade. A escola, como instituição de transformação social, enfrenta um quadro que reproduz e alimenta a estrutura socioeconômica consumista, encobrindo a dimensão e a urgência do problema. O objetivo é identificar as forças de mudança para melhorar os mecanismos de intervenção no campo educacional na Espanha para fomentar o envolvimento e a participação dos jovens. A metodologia qualitativa combina a análise do discurso com emprego da Teoria Fundamentada e da análise prospectiva com o método dos cenários. Por meio de um questionário validado, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas e grupos focais com técnicos e gestores, formadores de formadores, professores e pesquisadores (n=53). Os discursos dos agentes e a legislação sobre educação e sustentabilidade foram analisados para que fosse possível obter uma teorização substantiva. Por meio dela, identificam-se as fortalezas e as limitações, estabelecendo-se uma matriz de probabilidade e impacto que permite a visualização de três futuros possíveis. Conclui-se com um conjunto de recomendações para fortalecer o cenário desejado e reduzir as possibilidades do cenário distópico.
